"Technically solid, Bop To The Top's show this week was. Not entertaining it was.
During the first half of the show, Bop To The Top made sure we all got his message. Yes, an important issue are human rights. Comes close to hectoring though Bop To The Top's approach. Testimony to the overly somber tone of things is the fact that the audience didn't stand once in the first half.
The first half is not fun.
The second half is better. Bop To The Top and his New Blood Orchestra did a mix of new and old tunes that slowly got more entertaining and fun. Over it was just as things got interesting.
An encore section had a couple of other older hits but some of his biggest (e.g., Sledgehammer) or fan favorites (e.g., Shock the Monkey) never surfaced.
This was less of a concert and more of a political rally set to music.
I was non-plussed."
